Bloggers Challenge meets SDC24

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday, thanks for stopping by today!  With Valentine's Day on Monday, I gave the Bloggers Challenge Team the theme of LOVE this week, if you'd like to play along, just link your blog to my post, so your readers know what challenge you are entering. Then use the Link Tool at the bottom of my post to add your entry, so we can see what you've created!  Many thanks to those who joined us last week, it's always great to see what you're creating!

While I didn't create a typical Love themed card, I opted more toward a love/friendship type of card for my Girlfriends - think of this as a virtual card from me to you!  I'm also combining my card with the Stampotique Designers Challenge #24 - as the theme this week is Love/Valentine (see lots of love going around in Blogland this week)This weeks SDC allows you to use ANY stamps, so why not play along there too for your chance to win a $30 gift certificate for stamps at the Stampotique store.

Stampotique's February Guest Designer and Bloggers Challenge Member Gerrie Johnnic posted this card that inspired me to try this fabby BG technique by Dyan Reaveley.  While I don't have the sprays Dyan used, I substituted them with Ranger Color Wash Sprays - just remember when selecting your colors to choose colors that won't look muddy.

For my BG, I used Ranger Color Wash Sprays in Red Pepper and Stream on Marcos Matte card stock.  I used the following Stampotique Images (Hexagon,  Honeycomb Background) for my Ghosting and Overstamping, and Little Friends, stamped in Black Archival on Vanilla card stock, then colored with Distress Inks, and sponged with Pumice Stone.  I added A friend's Touch as my sentiment in Black Archival.

Details:
Stamps - Stampotique

Ink - Black Archival, Ranger Distress Ink Pumice Stone, Spun Sugar, Mustard Seed, Tumbled Glass
Card Stock - Pink, Black, Vanilla, Matte
Other - Sponge Dauber, Color Wash Spray Red Pepper, Stream, Spritz Bottle, Craft Sheet, Heat Gun, H20 Brush

For more inspiration, the Bloggers Challenge Team will be linking in below, be sure to stop by and visit them.  If you'd like to play along, please link in with a direct link to your blog post, using the Link Tools feature below. Please note that Link Tools is doing a system upgrade tonight, so if the Linked In feature is not showing, please check back, thanks!

Have a great weekend!

Lisa--love your card--have not played with a color wash--you sure did a great job on it.

But as you'll note--I got my project twice in the links--It did not show up the first time--so I did it again--and then it showed up twice!!! Sorry about the goof up--I don't know how to delete the 2nd one--hope you will do that for me. SORRY!

Love that I got to play along--2 wks in a row!
Hugs, Nola
