School's Back in Session - Bloggers Challenge

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday, thanks for stopping by!  I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying the cool down we are having this week.  We've had a busy week, tons of weeds needed to be pulled since we were gone last week, bushes needed trimming and the garden needed to be picked!  HS registration was also this week, which brings me to this weeks Bloggers Challenge Theme - Back to School.  The BTS challenge is open to your interpretation - maybe you just can't wait for your kids to head back and you're thinking about making a celebration card - go for it, I know I'm excited for my kids to be heading back and getting back into a routine.

Do you have any BTS traditions?  I take a photo of my boys in the same spot each year and have them hold a sign with their name and the year, I enjoy looking back to see how they've grown.  My boys start on the 18th, so I'll be sharing that picture next week.

A big thanks to those who played along with last weeks color challenge - I enjoyed checking out your projects!  Here's my take on this weeks challenge, using Artistic Outpost images from the Think and Wonder and Ephemeral plates

The image from Think and Wonder is stamped in Ranger Coffee Archival, on a Library Pocket Template created by Creations by AR and cut with the eCraft.  The pocked is sponged with Ranger Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  I added part of the sentiment (Why fit in) in Teal on the pocket, the inside of the card reads, When you were born to stand out.  For the Pocket Card (also part of the template), I stamped the journal background from the Ephemeral plate in Coffee (stamped off first), then added Think and Wonder in Teal, sponging the edges in Straw and Walnut.  The fab paper is from Websters Pages, to embellish, I dyed some Seam Binding with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, added a few Stick Pins and a Kraft Glassine Embossed Flower, cut with Spellbinders Rose Creations Die.

Details:
Stamps - Artistic Outpost
Ink - Ranger Coffee Archival, Distress Stain Walnut Ink, Distress Ink Walnut Stain, Scattered Straw, Stampin' Up! Taken with Teal
Card Stock - Teal, Vanilla, Chocolate
Other  - Seam Binding, Spellbinders Rose Creations Die, Texture Fades Folder, Button, The Sticky Thumb Dimensionals, Stick Pins, Pearl Ex, Big Shot, Ink Blending Tool, Non Stick Craft Mat, Scor-Tape, Pocket Template from Creations by AR

Additional Challenges - , Simon Says Stamp and Show a Tim Holtz Technique, Carisma Cardz - Disressing, Craft Us Crazy -Anything Goes, DYSU - Emboss It, Little Darlings School Days

Great card - the two kids are almost like your sons (like how you tied it in with your story). The boys a just a wee bit bigger though, right? Well done, the details are great.

Lisa,
This card is adorable. I love the old fashioned children, so different from today. I hope your kids have a good back to school start. I only have one going back to school this year. My daughter graduated college so no back to school for her, but I'll enjoy sending Eric off on his first day of his senior year. The years fly by!
