Explore...Dream...Discover - Masculine Birthday

It's challenge time over at the  Challenges by AR Blog, this week Vicki is your hostess and she is challenging you to use any template and create a Masculine Themed project.  I choose to use the FREE Library Pocket Set Template, to great a Birthday Gift Card Holder. The pocket insert works wonderfully to hold a gift card, and the outside pocket has plenty of space for stamping/embellies!

The top photos shows the pocket insert inside the pocket the one below shows the pocket removed

The pattern is cut from Vanilla card stock using the eCraft.  To decorate the outside Pocket, I stamped the verse from the Artistic Outpost Huck Finn plate in Black Archival, then added the ship in Ranger Scattered Straw Distress Ink.  For the inside pocket, I used the journal background from the Artistic Outpost Ephemeral Backgrounds plate, stamping in Scattered Straw.  I age the pocket and insert, I sponged on Ranger Distress Ink in Scattered Straw and Walnut Stain, then added some Jenni Bowlin Paint Dabbers in Malted Milk and Fountain Pen.  I used Stampin' Up!'s Slot Punch on the pocket for holding the Gift Card.

To embellish the pocket, I added some Black Twine and metal gears cut from Ten Second Studios Metal using Spellbinders Gear Dies.  I sanded the embossed areas of the gears, then added some Malted Milk Paint, let it sit for a second and buffed off any wet paint, then added some Game Spinners.

Details:
