Bloggers Challenge - Thankful for You

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday, thanks for stopping by!  This weeks Bloggers Challenge is Reuse/Recycle.  That leaves the theme open for a lot of creative interpretation. You can alter something, take an old stamped card and make it NEW again.  You get the idea....

I decided to "repurpose" and old unfinished frame with some new products from Heartfelt Creations.  Recently I saw this cool frame on Suze blog and thought I'd give it a go.  I've had Beeswax forever, and thought it would be something FUN to try.  Thanks for the inspiration Suze!

Not having any cookie cutters on hand, I just went with the method of pressing objects (in this case I just used mesh) into the beeswax.  After adding the Alcohol Inks and Perfect Pearls, I left the frame sit on my desk for a few days, thinking of how I'd finish the inside.  The finished piece was a little "bright" for me, so I rubbed on some Black Soot Distress Ink to tone it down, then pulled out images to finish altered the frame. First I brayered my Clay Coated card stock using the Spectrum Roll Technique (in place of the marker/spritzing, I used Glimmer Mist).  Once dry, I stamped various leaves from Heartfelt Creations Open Falling Leaves Set in Black Archival, heat set and cut with the Falling Leaves Die Cut.  I'm just loving these coordinating stamps/dies, it makes cutting images a breeze.  The leaves are crinkled and blending with Pumice Stone Distress Ink, then placed on the frame with dimensionals over the Black Flourish (die is available here).  For the inside of the frame I used a scrap piece of Spectrum Roll and stamped the sentiment from the Swirling Autumn Leaves set, omitting the word So.  Then adding the leaf flourish from the Elegant Autumn Swirl, and some leaves from the Falling Leaves set that I die cut and popped on dimensionals.

Details:
Stamps - Heartfelt Creations Open Falling Leaves, Swirly Autumn Leaves, Elegant Autumn Swirl
Ink - Pumpkin Patch, Black Archival, Distress Ink Pumice Stone, Black Soot
Card Stock - Black, Clay Coated
Other - Big Shot, Die Cuts Falling Leaves, Decorative Butterfly-Border Die Cut, Alcohol Ink (Stream, Lettuce, Wild Plum), Perfect Pearls, Beeswax, Melting Pot, Mesh, Dimensionals, Heat Gun, Wooden Frame, Brush, Black Twine, Glimmer Mist, Brayer

This is one of the most gorgeous cards I've ever seen. It took some work from the way it sounds but I love the mesh look on the beeswax and I adore the colors you used. I agree that the black ink is gorgeous on the background, but I still think it would be so pretty without it. Fabulous card!
