Alcohol Ink Mono Print - Challenge #3

This weeks Compendium of Curiosities Challenge is Alcohol Ink Mono Print, a technique I'm familiar with, as we did it quite a few years back on the TJNL CD#4, under the name Alcohol Ink Smoosh.  I just love the artsy background this technique yields, and no two pieces ever come out looking the same.

The inks I used on both of my cards are the same, the brighter shades being the first swipes, the muddy colors being the last swipes.

For this card I used the lighthouse image from Beyond the Sea by Artistic Outpost.  The Mono Print was just screaming clouds to me!

Again, the larger background panel it the more muddy colors, last generation of Mono print, why waste it right!  The fun collage image is from the Artistic Outpost Wonderland Collage plate.

Just a tip, if you are wanting to layer up on your background, use you Spellbinders Dies, to remove the center portion, giving you a place to stamp, then you can use the rest of your background as a panel layer.

Beautiful, as always, Lisa! The lighthouse stamp looks wonderful against the monoprint, as does the rabbit collage! Great tip about the die cut, too.

Thanks for playing along again this week. It's always a joy to see your beautiful art!

Hugs,
Linda

I love the lighthouse one - and great idea using the two smooshes for the fore and background, both of which are just fabulous.

Both of these cards are so great. The background of the lighthouse does have a scenic look to it. The background of the rabbit fits him so well. Love them both.
