Bloggers Challenge - They Say It's your Birthday!

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!  This weeks theme is Birthday!  Today's also a special birthday in my house, my oldest is 16th today,  Happy Birthday Jimmy!

Here's the card I created for his birthday, very fitting, don't you think?

I used the Burnt Edges Technique to add color to my White card stock.  I stamped the Truck from the Home Plate from Artistic Outpost in Black Archival Ink, then using a SAMJ, added the sentiment from the Cutie Pie Plate.  To personalize my card, I used the Times Roman 15 Point Font from JustRite, and the Horizontal Wood Stamper, stamping "Jimmy" in Black Momento Ink on Creamy Caramel card stock.  I used Stampin' Up!'s Word Window Punch to punch the sentiment.  To make my Word Window smaller, I simply put my stamped card stock back into my punch as shown, and punch the edge off.  I adhered this to a Black punched panel, and repeated the cutting method to make the panel smaller.  I attached the stamped tag and a Locket Key from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Line to a jump ring then to a piece of Silver Satin Ribbon.  The background paper is from the Basic Grey Origins line.  All of the edges are distressed - I can't wait to get my hands on the new Electronic Distresser from Zutter - I used it at CHA, it makes for some great vintage edges!
Details:
Stamps - Artistic Outpost Home; Cutie Pie; JustRite Times Roman Font 15 Point
Ink - Black Archival, Black Momento, Ranger Distress Ink Old Paper, Brushed Corduroy, Black Soot, Scattered Straw
Card Stock - White, Black, Creamy Caramel
Other - Distressing Tool, Ink Blending Tool, Silver Satin Ribbon, Basic Grey Origins, Locket Key, Jump Ring, Word Window Punch, JustRite Horizontal Wood Stamper. SAMJ, Sponge Dauber

How does a hot YOUNG gal like you have a 16 year old? Amazing!

That young man should appreciate this piece of art he is receiving for his birthday! The text is playful yet such a classy, mature card! Love that you used a key accent for this particular year!

Lisa, I love the card and I also love the challenge. Check out my card if you like.

Also, congratulations on having a 16 year old son! My son Eric turned 16 in September. We are halfway through drivers ed lessons and it's only now (4 months later) that I don't gasp for air when riding in the car with him. Enjoy the fun as your son starts!!!!
