Here's a simple Card Holder complete with a Belly Band, a perfect place for you to put a selection of cards to give as a gift.
Supplies:
1 -12” x 12” piece of card stock – cut to 8 ¾” x 12”
cut 1 strip 1 ¼” x 12” from your scrap piece for the Belly Band
Scor-It (or scoring tool of choice)
Sticky Strip
Scissors
Corner Rounder
Lay your card stock on your Scor-It and score at 3 ⅜” and 4”, turn and score at 3 ¼” and 2 ⅝” from the other end (these will be the flaps of your box holder - the larger one is the bottom flap)
Rotate your card stock and score at 1 ⅜” and ¾” from the edge, turn and score 1 ⅜” and ¾” from the other edge (these will become the flaps on the side of the box)
Working with the bottom flap (larger flap), cut away the side scores as shown - be sure to angle in the tab
Now cut away the side scores on the top flap - as shown
On the outer score of the side flap, mark down 1 ½” and cut out on both sides as shown below
Using the corner rounder, round the corners on the top flaps
Next, round the corners on the side flaps on the bottom (as shown)
Next, round the corners on the side piece as shown
At this point, if you'd like to stamp your card box, do so before continuing on to the next step
Adhere sticky strip to the inside of the bottom flap (I did have a picture but my DS deleted it tonight while playing with the camera)....Fold in the side flaps, and adhere the bottom flap to the side flaps as shown
For the Belly Band - score your 1 1/4" x 12" piece of card stock at 3 3/16" and 3 13/16" from one end, now score 2 5/6" and 3 1/4" from the other. Fold on the score marks, and secure the ends together using sticky strip. Embellish as desired, then slip over card box to keep it shut.

Great tutorial, I have not made one of these in quite some time. Thanks for the reminder on the measurements. Maybe today??? Yours turned out beautiful.
Thanks Lisa for the tutorial! I'll have to dig to see what 12 x 12 paper I have instock down there. I know I have some new textured. That would make a lovely box. These boxes will come in handy with the Xmas season approaching. Thanks soooooooo much for this! I will definitely use it!
Great tutorial! I will have to try one of these! :0)
Thanks for this. I'm a beginner and you explained everything so easy!!! Do you happen to have the right measures for 5"x7" cards box holder? If you do I would appreciate you post them or send to arymlede@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance.
Do these fit 5x7 cards and envelopes? If not do you know the measurements to do that? Love this box!
Thanks for the box tutorial Lisa, you made it look easy and I am going to make one today.
