Looks Like Spring

I was going to post one of the first cards I did 4 years ago when I first started stamping - I'll have to search my CD's to see if I can locate it - I think it's fun to look back and see how far we've all come, since we stamped our first images.

Now onto a question for you...When you design a card, do you pick out your images you want to use first, or do you design your backgrounds and then pick your images?

Well, bright oranges are still a spring color, aren't they??? Today's card combines the Graffiti and Triple Dimension techniques from past issues of the Technique Junkies Newsletter. Don't you just love the flower from Looks Like Spring! When adding the sentiments (AKA Graffiti, it really doesn't matter if your straight or not - have you ever seen perfect graffiti?).

Off to locate the first stamped card.....

Well, I normally have to have a reason behind the card, say "congratulations" (which I need two of right about now) then I, then depending on the gender, age, etc., I chose a stamp set and the cards' colors. Then I start to work on the layout of the card. Sometimes things influence this process like a new punch, then I will find a stamp that will work with the new tool. :D

Now, all that is if I am creating from scratch, which probably doesn't happen too much because I don't have a creative bone in my body (honestly!) so I CASE alot, so I draw my inspiration from someone else. Sometimes I am inspired by a color combo so then I choose the theme to go with the color combo or sometimes it is the layout of a card that I am CASEing.

Boy Lisa, you ask hard questions! Sorry if this is TMI! I guess the short answer is generally I pick my images since I don't think I've hardly started with a background! ;)

Thank you for all the inspiration you give!
