To Everything there is a Season

This week, the eBrush Design Team is sharing projects using Spectrum Noir Markers and Sheena Douglas Stencils, supplied by Crafter's Compaion.

Here's my finished card, keep reading below to see how I created my background.

Working on a non-stick craft sheet, I created the background for my card using the eBrush to apply Spectrum Noir Markers (BT1, CR10, LY1 and DG2) to a piece of Acetate as shown.  

I wanted a watercolor look and feel to my background, to achieve this look, I applied Blending Solution to the felt on an Ink Blending Tool and lightly pounced over the eBrushed Acetate sheet.  This technique is similar in nature to the Smackin' Acetate Technique, that I've done on previous cards using Waterbased Markers and a water filled spritz bottle.

Quickly place your Mixed Media card stock directly onto the Acetate and press down to pick up the color.  If you do not move quick enough the markers will dry.  If this happens, simply apply additional Blending Solution to the felt and pounce back over the Acetate sheet and repeat to pull the colors.

After taping the Summer Meadow Stencil onto my background panel, I used the eBrush and a Black Spectrum Noir Marker to add color to the stenciled area, leaving me with a silhouette image.

TIP: To clean the marker from your stencil use a cloth and Blending Solution. 

To finish my card, I stamped both the verse from God's Timing and Butterflies from the Stamped By - Butterfly Mini stamp sets onto scraps of the eBrushed background.  I die cut the verse panel using the ODBD Circle Ornaments Die, mounting the circle onto a Black panel that was die cut using the Matting Circles Dies.  Using scissors, cut the stamped butterflies, sponge the edges with an Ink Blending Tool and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, adhere to card using Glue Dots. To further embellish, I added Zva Creative Black Crystal Gems.
