Stenciled Hearts

Recently I participated in the Online Card Classes - Stenciled Class, and today I'm sharing two very different cards using stamps and custom dies from Our Daily Bread Designs that use a few of the techniques taught in the Stenciled Class.

This first card uses three techniques - Ink Blending, Marker Misting and Texture and Dimension with Pastes

I used added lightweight Embossing Paste to a stencil to create the flourish background.  Once the panel was dry, I used my old SU Marker Mister (what's old is new again) along with a STAEDTLER Karat Watercolor Marker to add flecks of color to the panel, then stamped the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs To the Lovebirds in Red ink.

The beautiful hearts are die cut using Our Daily Bread Designs Custom Ornate Hearts Die. To create the larger heart, I created a stencil by die cutting the heart from a piece of Stencil Material, then placed my stencil over a piece of Mixed Media card stock.  I added color with Ranger Distress inks to fill the heart in a light pink, then placed a Flourish Stencil over the heart and sponged on a darker color of Distress Ink through the stencil.  I then die cut the heart using the ODBD Custom Ornate Hearts Die (large heart).  The delicate ornate heart is from this same die set, again cut from Mixed Media card stock, and sponged with Ranger Distress Ink.  To embellish I die cut the ODBD Custom Fancy Foliage Die from Vellum, then White embossed the die cut and added it to my card using Glue Dots.  To further embellish, I added some Silver Gems and cording.

My next card features the ODBD Custom Ornate Hearts Die, Love You Bunches and Heart of Joy stamp sets.

The colorful background panel was created with Just A Trace Stencils and the Gelli Arts Plate.  The sentiment is White embossed on Acetate and adhered to the die cut heart panel.  The hearts behind the Gelli Plate background are stamped using a Kpad.
