Bloggers Challenge - Flourishes

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday! Thanks to those who played along with last weeks Celebrations Challenge, this weeks challenge is Flourishes.  Sorry for the delay in posting this weeks challenge, but it's still Friday here!

The flourishes on my card can be found in the form of Stamps, Stencils and Die Cuts.

To create my mixed media canvas, I used stamps from Artistic Outpost, Top Dog Dies, Stencils and the Gelli Arts Plate.

I started my canvas with a piece of Mixed Media card stock, adhering die cut pieces from Top Dog Dies Leafy Flourishes Die Set (TC016), Cherish Doilies & Tag Die Set (TC027), Vintage Alphabet Die (TC018) and Purse Card Finishers Die Set (TC002) to the Mixed Media card stock with Gel Medium.  I then cut scraps of drywall tape and randomly added that to the background.  Once pieces were in place, I painted over the whole panel with Gesso.  After the Gesso was dry, I applied Modeling paste through stencils to add additional texture.  To add color to the canvas, I brayered Acrylic Paint onto the Gelli Arts plate, then pressed the canvas into the paint until the background covered.

I randomly stamped images in Black Archival to the canvas using stamps from the Artistic Outpost Serenity, Paperboy and Flower Market stamp sets.  I stamped the sentiment from Chalkboard Wisdom on scraps of the background, and adhered it to the canvas using Gel Medium.  The sweet children are from the Think and Wonder plate, stamped on Vanilla card stock, sponged with Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and adhered with Gel Medium.  To make the children and sentiment pop from the background I drew around them using a Black Fineliner from STAEDTLER.  To add a bit of shimmer I brushed on some Gold Pearl Ex.

ETA - I outlined the Vintage Alphabet Die Cuts to make them pop
