Artistic Outpost January Blog Hop

Welcome to the Artistic Outpost Design Team Blog Hop! Each month, the fabulous designers at Artistic Outpost showcase projects created with various Artistic Outpost Plates/Themes, this months DT Blog Hop theme is Designers Choice.

I created a Mixed Media Card using a combination of Artistic Outpost plates, Acrylic Paints, Just a Trace Stencils and the Gelli Arts Plate.

The background was created using Acrylic Paints, the Gelli Arts Plate, and the Small Cabin Stencil from Just a Trace.  I stamped the pennant from the Artistic Oupost Cowgirl Strength plate onto the background, then stamped it again on a scrap and cut out the pennants and adhered them over the stamped image with dimensionals.  The quote is from the Artistic Outpost Quote and Quotables plate, stamped on a scrap piece of the Gelli Arts background, sponged in Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and adhered in place.  The grass is from a sentiment found on the Typography plate, (I cut the grass portion away from the sentiment so that I could get dual use out of it), the grass is stamped in Black Archival using a SAMJ.  The butterfly is from the Flower Market plate, stamped in Black Archival on a scrap Gelli Arts background.  The sweet girls are from the Birds of a Feather plate, stamped in Black Archival on White card stock, painted with Acrylic paints and colored with STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Markers.  Once the paint and markers were dry, I stamped the image again using a SAMJ, and attached the girls to the Butterfly Wings, then to the background panel.  To further embellish, I added some doodles with a White Gel Pen, and some Gesso Circles.

Lisa..I really like your card! That bright background with the black stamping really works! Very neat contrast! I like the addition of the random white in the background, too. The Artistic Outpost stamps you have chosen are so sweet. I love the little winged girls and the bunting stretching across the card. Love the sentiment, too! <3 Candy
