Bloggers Challenge - In Bloom

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday! Thanks to those who played along with last weeks Emboss Me Challenge. This weeks challenge is In Bloom (open to your interpretation).

I was going to create a card using floral images, but then decided to take a different approach to the challenge.  I used the Dry Embossing with Stencils Technique from the April Issue of Club CR8, to create my background panel. (There is a bit of floral in the stencil.) The April Issue of Club CR8 is all about Embossing - want a chance to win a copy, see this blog post for more details!

Mixed Media - stamps Art Gone Wild, Dylusions

After the stencil was embossed, I used Distress Paints (Picket Fence, Mowed Lawn and Broken China) along with the Gelli Arts Plate to add color to the embossed background.  The girl and sentiment are stamped on tissue paper; the girl is colored with STAEDTLER Mars Graphic Markers. Both the sentiment and image are adhered to the background using Matte Medium.  Additional images from Art Gone Wild are stamped in Black, and accented with White Gel Pen.
