ODBD For the Love of Wood Anniversary Hop

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs Alumni Team bi-monthly hop, this weeks hop theme is For the Love of Wood!   The theme of this weeks hop is in celebration of ODBD's 5th Anniversary, as one of the gifts for the fifth year is wood.

Instead of creating an Anniversary card, I altered a wooden box I had in my alterable stash.  The hinged box was unfinished, with a glass insert in the center.  To alter the box, I simply removed the hinges and applied Malted Milk Paint to cover the box, heat set, then stamped the Wood Background in Coffee Archival to give the box it's wooden look.  Once dry, I sponged on Gathered Twigs Distress ink to age the wood.

To cover the glass insert, I stamped the mountain scene from the Keep Climbing Set in Black Archival on White card stock.  The image is stamped twice, using a SAMJ to fill the panel.  To add color, I used STAEDTLER Ergo-Soft Colored pencils, blending the color with Nibs and Gamsol.  I added clouds by sponging Blue ink around a scallop square, then sponged the edges in Gathered Twigs Distress ink.  The stamped panel is adhered to a Black panel, then over the glass insert.

The Tag was created by die cutting Black card stock, using ODBD's Exclusive Recipe Card and Tags Die.  I used a SAMJ to add the sentiments and a portion of the mountain scene.  To embellish the tag I tied Vintage Black Seam Binding into a Double Bow using Becca's Peg Bow Maker.
