Bloggers Challenge - They Say it's Your Birthday

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!  Thanks to those who played along with last weeks Sketch Challenge, I always love to see how everyone created with the same sketch. This weeks Challenge is to create a Birthday Card.  Yep, you guessed it, I'm in need of a Birthday card, as our oldest turns 19 on Tuesday!

Inspired by this sketch at  the Willow Sketchie Challenge, I created my Birthday card using the monster truck and sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs Special Boy stamp set.

Stamps - Our Daily Bread Designs Special Boy
The truck is stamped in Black Archival on White card stock and colored with STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Water Color Pencils, blending with Gamsol.  Because my DS is known to fly a flag from the back of his jacked up pick up, I added the Checkered Flag to the back of the truck.  You'll  also notice a bit of "mud" on the back panel, what's a monster truck without a little mud!  Not having a lot of masculine pattern papers, I embossed the card stock panels with the Diamond Plate Texture Fades Embossing Folder, and highlighted the embossing with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Details:
Stamps - Our Daily Bread Designs Special Boy
Ink - Ranger Black Archival, Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Card Stock - Black, Kraft, Cherry, White
Other - Blending Nib, Gamsol, Dimensionals, Big Shot, Diamond Plate Embossing Folder, STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Pencils, Sponge Dauber

Great card for a grown son. I know he'll love it. That truck is so cool and the background is perfect for the image. It's amazing how quickly these children grow up!
