Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday! Thanks to those who played along with last weeks Countdown to Christmas Challenge, this weeks challenge is All Stitched Up.
I created my card for this weeks challenge, at the same time I was creating my DT pieces for the November Artistic Outpost Release. My card uses the same image from the Artistic Outpost Cowgirl Strength plate that I used in this post, but I swapped out my color mediums for a much "brighter" palette, and created my own background instead of using pattern paper.
I started out by stamping the cowgirl in Black Archival on a Manilla Tag, then masked her with Eclipse Tape, so I could go back and add color to the stamped image. To create the background I used Acrylic Paints (Red/Yellow/Blue) on a Gelli Arts Plate, pressing down the Paradise Stencil into the paints before pressing down my stamped panel into the plate. After removing the stamped panel from the Gelli Plate, I removed the Eclipse Tape, then colored the image with STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Pencils. I repeated the Gelli Plate paint process on a larger panel to place under the stamped image panel. The sentiment is from the Artistic Outpost Kudzu Kafe plate, stamped on a scrap panel, adhered in place then accented with a STAEDTLER Black Lumocolor maker to make it pop. The edges of both panels were stamped with the "stitch" stamp from the Cowgirl Strength plate.
Details:
Stamps - Artistic Outpost Cowgirl Strength, Kudzu Kafe
Card Stock - Manilla Tag, Vanilla, Black, Mustard
Ink - Ranger Black Archival, Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink
Other - Ink Blending Tool, Gelli Arts Plate, Acrylic Paint, The Crafters Workshop Paradise Stencil, Staedtler Karat Aquarell WC Pencils/Black Lumocolor Marker, Eclipse Tape
