You Have Blessed My Life - Home Decor Frame

Happy Thursday! I don't know about you, but I have a lot of alterable stuff in my studio, I couldn't even tell you how long I've had this frame, but thought it would be perfect for my Ribbon Carousel Spotlight Tutorial using Burlap and Ribbon to create Rolled Roses.

Home Decor - Rolled Roses, Stamps Our Daily Bread Designs
The frame was plain white, I applied Modge Podge and some pretty Bo Bunny papers. I added some stamped images from Our Daily Bread Designs (Vine Background and Be Joyful) in Coffee Archival to fill in some of the empty space on the paper.  I wanted the stamped images to be more distressed and random, so I used the rubber without an acrylic block and randomly rolled the inked stamp onto my pattern paper.  The edges of the frame are sponged with Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

To embellish my frame I created some Rolled Roses, using  2.5" Wired Burlap (Red,), Vintage Seam Binding (Walnut Brown), and 1-1/2" Natural Spidy Lace Crochet Ribbon.  I also added some Zva Creative Crystal Pearls and Leaves, along with a Loopy Leather Tan Seam Binding Bow, stamped sentiment and bird (to go along with Our Daily Bread Designs Bird Challenge).  The sparkly stuff you see if Ranger Rock Candy Stickles with some added Dry Glitter.

Burlap, Crochet Ribbon and Vintage Seam Binding Rolled Roses

To create the Rolled Roses - Fold Burlap (or any ribbon) in half, with raw edges facing down.  With Burlap end in right hand fold tail end down, fold in and roll a few times to create the Rose center.  Using a Twist and Roll method, twist Burlap up and roll to form petals.  Add hot glue every few rolls to secure in place.
