12 tags of 2012 - September

Welcome to another edition of the 12 tags of 2012 - September, the 10 hour tag! LOL

Okay, so it didn't really take 10 hours to create the tag, but it sure felt like it!  That's what happens when you get together with a friend for a crafty day!  When Sue and I get together we always have a goal of completing at least ONE project.  Her challenge to me today was to complete Tim's September Tag, I combined it with with this weeks Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge .

Inspired by Tim's Tag, but going in my own direction, here's my tag...
12 tags 2012 - September
Instead of using the Faux Riveted Metal Technique for the background, I used the Texture Fades Riveted Metal Embossing Folder, on the Dress Form die cut, and went more with a Mixed Media Tag.  The background was created with torn pieces of My Minds Eye (The Sweetest Thing Honey) pattern paper, Modge Podged to a Canvas Tag.  Once the torn papers were dry, I added some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to tone down the papers a bit, then added some stencils. (TCW - Mini Antiquities in Gathered Twigs and Mini Paradise in Gesso).

For the Riveted Dress Form, I painted the embossed metal with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint in Sable Brown.  Once dry, I sanded the embossing, added Studio Paint in Dab of Yellow and some Gesso for added color, then added the Mini Paradise Stencil with White Gesso.  Once dry, I sponged on Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, to coordinate with the pink in the papers, and the sentiment (Dylusions - The Right Words).  To embellish I added some Tulle, Walnut Brown Vintage Seam Binding, a heart, lock and key that I dabbed with Metallic Distress Stains.

Details:
Stamps - Dylusions - The Right Words

Ink - Ranger Distress Inks Gathered Twigs, Picked Raspberry, Ranger Coffee Archival
Card Stock - Manilla Tag, Canvas Sticky Back Paper, Vanilla, Espresso
Other - Walnut Brown Vintage Seam Binding, Tulle, Dimensionals, Metal Heart, Lock/Key Charm, Vintage Pin, Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint - Dab of Yellow, Sable Brown, Gesso, Big Shot, Dress Form Die, Texture Fades Alterations Riveted Embossing Folder, Distress Stains Brushed Pewter/Antique Bronze, Gesso, Prima Distress Tool

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to stop by Suzz blog, her tag took her to the "dark side"!  It was fun to get together and create!
