Bloggers Challenge - Create Your Own Background Papers

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!  Thanks to those who played along with last weeks Sketch Challenge, it was wonderful to see your take on the sketch.  This weeks challenge is to Create Your Own Background Papers, for your card or project.

I used the Gelli Arts Plate and did some Mono Printing to create my backgrounds, you'll be seeing more of these backgrounds, as I created four mono prints with the same Paints and Stencils.  Above is my finished card, the image and sentiment are from Stampotique, stamped in Black Archival on panel 4 (shown below).  The focal image is stamped on an ATC piece, colored with STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor pencils, blended with Gamsol.  The edges are sponged with Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  The bottom Mono Printing is panel 2 (shown below).

This is print #1 - Acrylic paints on Gelli Plate along with Stencils (you can barely see them here)

This is print #2, you can see the stencils and lighter color on this one

In order to get additional prints, I applied White Paint over the dried Gelli Plate, lifted off and ended up with print #3 (see the Gelli Plate Blog for details)

Then quickly pressed down paper for print #4

Here's another look at print #4, where I cut away a few ATC sized panels.  On the ATC panel on the left, I placed a stencil over the panel, then sponged on Distress Stain, and wiped away the excess.  On the ATC panel on the right, I applied random colors of Distress Stain and ended up with a much darker panel.  Both panels edges are sponged with Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
