Vintage Valentine

Happy VD, I hope today finds you surrounded by love and chocolates!  Inspired by Tim's Tag Valentine Tag, I set out to create one for Hubby!  Not having all the supplies, I'm improvising just like I did during the 12 Tags of Christmas!

Not having the coordinating stamps to go with the Valentine Embossing Folder (what was I thinking), I had to get a little creative.  I used Acrylic Paint and the Gelli Arts Plate do do a little Mono Printing on the tag, once dry, I embossed it with the Valentine Embossing Folder and highlighted with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.  The sweet vintage image is from the Artistic Outpost Vintage Valentine plate.  The image is stamped in Black Archival on Watercolor paper, then colored with STAEDTLER Marsgraphic Marker, cut out, stickled and added to the tag.

Not having any honeycomb paper, I cut 4 hearts from Red card stock using the Silhouette.  I embossed, sponged and scored them down the center, then adhered them with Scor-Tape, then added some stickles to the edges and attached to the Tissue Tape heart.  I added some Black hemp, to the heart, then to the girls hand to make it appear as if the heart was a Valentine Balloon.  I added Salvage Stickers for the sentiment, and Embossed and cut some Metal Tape to trim the bottom.

If you have Artistic Outpost Stamps, be sure to play along with this months challenge theme Shades of Red.  Be sure to read all details here - as you need to use AO stamps in order to play along!

Great take on the heart. Nice to know you also have a Silhouette. Not many people have them and if they do, they don't use them much!

Lisa...your Valentine tag is darling! I almost bought that Artistic Outpost stamp set the other day! :) You did a fantastic job on your tag. Love the shabby bow at the top clean down to the lacey die cut at the bottom. Love your dimensional heart on the tag, too! Beautiful job! Thanks for sharing your tag with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
