The Mighty Sea - Mojo#227

Ever have one of those days where you know what you want to use on your project, then just can't seem to find what you need!  Well, today was one of those days!  I couldn't find sandpaper or the little seashells which I know we have somewhere in this house!

Inspired by this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch, I created a masculine card using The Mighty Sea image from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I just love this image, it's so peaceful with the waves splashing and the seagulls flying above.  The image is stamped in Ranger Black Archival on Vanilla, then colored with STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Pencils (blending with Gamsol).  To add clouds to the sky, I sponged around a Scallop edge with STAEDTLER Chalk Pastels.
I had intended to use sandpaper as the bottom panel on my card, and had to substitute with a piece of Kraft Resist instead since I couldn't find any.  I think this piece works rather well with my stamped image, as it has compass and map images.  To embellish I added the Fence Die in Black and a Fly that one of my boys made.  The Verse can be found on ODBD's The Mighty Sea set, the Hymn, is from ODBD's It is Well with My Soul set.

Details:
Stamps - Our Daily Bread Designs The Mighty Sea, It is Well with my Soul
Ink - Ranger Black Archival, Ranger Distress Ink Gathered Twigs
Card Stock - Marina Mist, Black, Vanilla
Other - Ranger Kraft Resist Paper, Websters Pages Pattern Paper, Spellbinders Oval Dies, Big Shot, STAEDTLER Karat Aquarell Watercolor Pencils/Chalk Pastels, Sponge Dauber, Blending Stumps, Gamsol, Fishing Line/Fly, Dimensionals, ODBD Fence Die, Scallop Punch

Have a great day!

Beautiful card Lisa- he DSp for the sand works well- your coloring is so pretty! I grew up right on the K3 river, and I love anything with water in it- it is so peaceful to me- and I love the sentiment too!

Beautiful card! That kraft resist looks perfect! It even looks like the wind has swept the sand with the curves in the pattern.
