Fall Blooms - Bloggers Challenge

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday, thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope your week has been going well, if your a frequent visitor to my blog, you probably noticed I have been a bit MIA this week, but it was for a good reason!  I took a trip to visit my parents last week for a few days of rest, relaxation and a bit of mom and me time!

I had a wonderful visit and even brought back some fabulous old family photos for some upcoming projects, it was fun to spend hours with my mom going through all of my grandmothers old photos and getting some family history at the same time.  My family loved looking at the photos upon my return, we're thinking of visiting some of the addresses to see if the houses and building where my great grandparents owned a store in the 1900's is still around.

On to the challenge...This weeks Bloggers Challenge is Fall Blooms

I've long admired my mom's work with Ten Second Studios Metal, and asked her to teach me some of her tricks while I was visiting.  Luckily for me, I picked a plate that works with this week Bloggers Challenge Theme!  I used Mustard Metal from Ten Second Studios only with their Sunflower plate.  My embossed piece was the size of the plate, I cut a portion off and adhere it with Scor-Tape to a metal candle tin I had in my alterables.

Details:
Ten Second Studios Mustard Metal
Ten Second Studios Sunflower Embossing Plate
Metal Tools
Metal Candle Tin
Scor-Tape
Light Spackle
Sanding Block

Additional Challenges:  Moxie Fab World - Textured to Perfection, Charisma Cardz - Embossing, Touch Twin Challenge - Florals

I love the plate motif, Lisa...great choice. The color is excellent. Beautifully created. So glad you had some time with your mom...cherish the times...I wish my mom was still with me. She passed away in 1992.
Hugs, Gayle.

Hi Lisa,

So glad that you had a nice visit with your parents. It is especially nice to go through old photos, when there is someone right there to tell you about them.

My Grandmother was the keeper of the photos...and when she passed, there was no one to tell us when, where or sometimes even who was in the photo. Be sure to label the back while you remember. It will be a huge gift to your children some day.

This tin is beautiful! I have yet to play with metal...this is really another lovely gift you could give. Your house must look incredible with all of these amazing projects in it!

Love the tins, Lisa. There's just no end to your talents, is there?!

The photo of you and your mom is really cute. I'll bet she's so proud of the beautiful artwork you do. (Enjoy your time with your folks. We lost my dad three months ago and it's been really hard on all of us.)

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving me the message about my winning the blog candy for HC. Made my day! THANK YOU!!!
