Bloggers Challenge - Summertime

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!  Thanks to those who played along with last weeks sketch challenge, I always love to see how everyone interprets a sketch!  This weeks challenge theme is Summertime, it's open to your interpretation of Summer.

In our house - summertime means lots of fishing!  Although with the very hot weather we've been having this week, sitting out in a boat waiting for the fish to bite does not sound like fun summer day!

My focal image is from the Artistic Outpost Keeper plate, stamped in Black Archival on Watercolor paper and colored using the Marker Watercoloring Technique.  The grass also comes from this same set and is stamped in Coffee Archival.  I added the Postcard image from the Ephemeral Backgrounds plate, sponged the Vanilla panel with Walnut Stain ink and distressed the edges.  I added a Fly Lure that my DS tied and some old fishing line from my grandfathers reel.

While at CHA this past week, I picked up some tape runners and dimensionals from The Sticky Thumb, I just LOVE the dimensionals, as they come 3 sheets to a package.  The best part, the variety pack has different sized dimensionals, there is even a sheet of circle dimensionals!  Not to mention this tape is super sticky as the name suggests!

Details:
Stamps - Artistic Outpost
Ink - Ranger Black Archival, Ranger Coffee Archival, Ranger Distress Ink Walnut Stain
Card Stock - Ruby Red, Vanilla, Black, Watercolor
Other - Fly, Fishing Line, Ink Blending Tool, Non Stick Craft Mat, The Sticky Thumb Tape/Dimensionals, Distress Tool

Once again you've created a "fabulous" card. Perfect for a guy. Fishing is something I haven't done in years but it's a great summer activity. Love the fly you used as an embellishment.

this stamp is a dead ringer for one of your boys as I can image them at that age fishing. Great card! I've been wanting some fish lately but I'm really the only one in the house that eats it unless it's raw, then I can persuade Scott to eat some.

Lisa-I know I"m late in posting, but well, it's been hectic! My Dad was a big fisherman but it seems my Mom always won the prizes in catching BIG fish. Even have the photos to prove it. Anyway, I LOVE this image--makes me want to get out my KEEPER set too and use it with the girl in it!
Great to be a among the players again for this one!
Hugs, N
