Bloggers Challenge - Pets

Happy Bloggers Challenge Friday!  Thanks to those who played along with last weeks Make it Shimmer Challenge, it was wonderful to see so many new players!  This weeks challenge theme is Pets, it's open for your interpretation of the theme, so if  you have a Pet Alligator or always wanted one, stamp away my friend - we'd love to see it!

Those of us with pets, know they are so much more than that - they truly are part of the family.  They are always happy to see you.  Here's a picture of our almost 8 year old Lab Lou, who by the way thinks at 90 pounds he's a lap dog!

I went for a monochromatic look, using papers from Graphic 45's Curtain Call line, along with this adorable dog image from Rare Image Rubber Stamps Pet plate.  To add color to my image I used the Vintage Art Technique from the June Technique Junkie Newsletter.  While the Tech calls for a large collage detailed image, I thought it worked wonderfully with this image.

Details:
Stamps - Rare Image Rubber Stamps
Ink - Ranger Black Archival, Distress Inks - Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Walnut Stain
Card Stock - Vanilla, Black, Caramel
Other - CandiFix, Graphic 45 Curtain Call, Ink Blending Tool, Non Stick Craft Mat

Additional Challenge entered - Crafty Sentiments - Neutral Colours

If you'd like to play along with this weeks Bloggers Challenge, please link back to this post on your blog and mention you created your card for the Bloggers Challenge. Please add your link using the Link Tool below. Just a note on the link tool, your link should be a direct link to your Bloggers Challenge Post, use your name as the Title. Please do not link to cards that were created prior to the challenge date. Entries not linking properly will be removed.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Your dog looks exactly like the dog in your stamp. Very cool. I love the monochromatic look with these browns. Give the 'lapdog' a big sloppy kiss. He's a cutie.
