All Things Beautiful

Over the weekend my Lilac bush opened, and I'm so glad the weather has cooled a bit and I can have the windows open and enjoy the wonderful smell.  I just wish they stayed in bloom all summer!

I haven't had a chance to continually play along with the Grungy Monday Challenge, but when I saw this weeks challenge using Tim's September, 2008 Technique Challenge, I knew I'd find time to participate.  Since I don't have a lot of Adirondack Dye Inks, I did substitute them with SU Dye Inks.  I also have a 2nd generation stamped image, but haven't put it together on a card yet.

I combined this challenge along with Our Daily Bread Designs SNT Challenge - Frame it out in Texture.  The Butterfly Branch and verse are from ODBD's  Faith Set, stamped on Matte card stock and cut with Spellbinders Labels Eighteen.  I die cut a frame with the larger dies and embossed it with a Texture Fades Folder.  The image panel is popped up on dimensionals.  To add to the base card, I added the Vintage Border/Die under the image, some Zva Creative Pearls and Recollections Mulberry flowers.

Details:
Stamps - Our Daily Bread Designs
Ink - Chocolate, Ranger Coffee Arcival, Ranger Black Archival, SU Dye Inks
Card Stock - Teal, White, Black
Other - Sponge Dauber, Mulberry Flowers, Zva Pearls, Dimensionals, Texture Fades Folder, Big Shot, ODBD Vintage Border Die, Basic Grey Sweet Threads Pattern Paper, Spritz Bottle, Spellbinders Labels Eighteen

Challenges entered:
A Spoonful of Sugar - Things with Wings, Scrap-Creations - 3 Different Papers, My Time to Craft - Use a Die Cut, Crafty Cardmakers - Embossing, Lily Pad Designs - Embossing

Is there anything more wonderful than the fragrance of lilacs?? Ours are just beginning to open, really late this year, and it's such a treat to see and smell them!

Your card is gorgeous, Lisa! You always create the most wonderful, artistic designs, and this is a perfect example of the fact. Your watercolor stamping looks great, and the sweet embellishments tie it all together perfectly.

Hi Lisa! I love my lilacs, too - unfortunately, with all the rain we've been having, I got to enjoy about 3 days of them after they opened, and then they started turning brown. Hope yours do better!
Your card is lovely, such a nice mix of patterns and colors. Thanks for playing with us at Lily Pad Cards!
