Take Flight - PDCC#55

I'm so glad you stopped by today!  It's time for another Color Story Challenge from at The Play Date Cafe.  This week we have Sarah as our color story hostess, and we welcome Innovative Stamp Creations as this weeks sponsor, along with Betsy Griffin (ISC Owner) as our Guest Designer.  This weeks winner will receive this fabulous set ($18 value) compliments of ISC

The PDCC Designers were all sent a lovely array of images from ISC to incorporate with this weeks challenge - thanks Betsy! And given the color story, it looks like most of us used the same beautiful butterfly image!  It's always great to see so many different interpretations of the same set.

I created this card a few weeks back when my friend and fellow PDCC DT member Sue, came down to create with me for the day. I actually started out with a different ISC image that was sent to me, but it just wasn't working with the color story, so I moved to the beautiful Take Flight set.  I used a beautiful piece of Websters Pages paper that Sue had brought with her, stamping my image directly on the paper.  I stamped the the image again on Watercolor paper, coloring the images with the Marker Watercoloring Technique in Pinks and Burgundy, then cut them out and placed them on dimensionals over the stamped image and added some gems.

Details:

Ink - Markers, Versamark, Black
Card Stock - Burgundy, Watercolor, Blue, Black
Other - Websters Pages, Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Spellbinders Lacey Squares, Dimensionals, Gems

Here's this weeks Color Story Photo. We'd love for you to play along with us at the Cafe, you can find all the details here on how to enter.  If you upload to any online gallery please use keyword PDCC#55 so we can find your creations!

What a wonderful effect with the watercolor paper! Love how the colors blend and just look so marvelous together. Yes, it seems as though we were all drawn to the butterflies, I think that set could accomodate those colors best. Super job on your card, Lisa.

Hi Lisa~

Your card caught my eye as soon as I came to that part of the PDC blog! It made me think it was in the rain forest. It is so beautiful. And, the colors in the rain forests are so bold and wonderful...like your paper and butterflies! I love the addition of the bird. Wonderful!

The sentiment made me giggle! Thank you for sharing!
