Limited Supplies...Oh Me! Oh My!

I belong to a wonderful yahoo group, where I have made some fabulous friends over the years.  In this particular group we have monthly swaps: some SUO, some Anything Goes, and some weekly Challenges.  This past week I received a wonderful package from my friend Rose.  I think to myself, did I forget I signed up for the weekly challenge, and email Rose to find out. Nope, I didn't sign up, but Rose sent me a package so I could play along.  Not one to pass up the challenge, I agreed.

Fast forward a few days....I open the wonderful "mystery" package of supplies.  Rose included card stock, gems, ribbons, embossed/punched pieces, punched trim - she thought of everything!  Thanks Rose!  Then I start to panic and  think boy am I in trouble, I don't have much current coordinating SU product to go with the mystery pieces.  Why panic you ask?  Rose included the beautiful Cherry Cobbler, and being the "queen of layers", I had no extra for my layers.  Okay, lets get creative here....Since I was going to be covering the one layer with some DSP, I simply cut the center from that panel to use as a layer piece (see third card below).  I did add in a few more gems, some added layers and Silver Cording to finish my cards.  Here they are up close:

Rose had included some plain punched ornaments, here I embossed the Damask image from Friends 24-7 on three of the punched panels, folded them in the center and adhered them to form a 3D Ornament.  This card fits the  Diggin' on Damask challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

On this card I added Silver Cording and extra Gems, all other items were part of the "mystery" package

This is the card where I added the extra Cherry Cobbler panel, that I had cut from the center of the Cherry Cobbler Panel from card one.  I did add more gems, otherwise all items on this card were included in the "mystery" package.

I have some leftover pieces to create one more card, I just need to see what I can work up as I don't have a lot of DSP left.  Thanks Rose for a wonderful challenge!  I can't wait to see what the other players create with their package of goodies!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Beautiful Christmas cards! This would panic me having all the pieces to use up. You made it look easy. WOW! three and a possible fourth card and not a scrap of black anywhere. :)

Wonderful cards, Lisa! good use of the materials. I have done the same thing cut card stock out of the middle for another layer. Now you can see you "need" some new SU card stock like the cherry cobbler!

Lisa, isn't it wonderful to have friends that think of things and take care of arranging for them...even before we think about it! I call that being blessed with great friends!

Lisa, you made some amazing cards. They are just so beautiful. Traditional but with some zing in them. They are fantastic.

Have a blessed week!
