Ever have one of those day? You go to your studio to create, have something in mind, and end up with something totally different? I had all intentions of using this lovely image, for a Color Challenge, but after adding my colors, they blended a little too much creating a totally different color than the challenge called for. The pattern paper I had originally planned on using no longer worked either, so off to Plan B.

I used the Simple Pleasures stamp from Paperbag Studios, it's one I purchased with the Gift Certificate I won from last months PBS Blog Contest. The image is stamped in Black Archival, then I added color with the Glimmer Mist Watercolor Technique. The colors of the Glimmer Mist are much darker IRL. I think this stamp would also make a lovely Sympathy card - don't you?
Have a great weekend, we're having family over to celebrate Joe's birthday. When I asked him what kind of cake he wanted, he replied "eclair cake of course"! So I made a large one for his birthday, and a smaller one, just because I knew they'd be itching to have some before the party! They always do!
ETA - some of you have been asking about the Eclair Cake - I'll be sharing that recipe soon!

I sincerely wish I had that stamp right now....I've been making cards for my mother's 90th birthday party tomorrow....I'm going to have a stack for various relatives who need one. :-) I think having cards will help Mother remember the day more vividly. (Her short-term memory is really bad!) I love your card, Lisa...it's a great one.
Just beautiful!
Lisa, This is wonderful. The sentiment and image are awesome and the background paper goes so beautifully.
What is eclair cake? Sounds delicious.
Love this stamp from PBS. (I have it too!) Gorgeous colors. Love the extra embellie. :) Now you have to share that recipe with us. Sounds good!
Forgot to say Happy Birthday Joe!
Oh YUMMM! Eclair Cake! We usually just buy a dozen or so extra large eclairs for my family's birthdays! You are so good!
Lisa, I love this picture. I love the mesh look behind it like a fence. I love the colors...and yes, I think this would be a great Sympathy card or Birthday Card, or Anniversary Card sentiment! Perfect!
I love your coloring...even though it was a bit of an experiment!
TFS!
