It's a Barn Thing....

I have a thing for old looking barns, I just think they look neat.  As a matter of fact when we looked for property to build our house, I purposely picked our lot, because the lot just behind us has a cool old looking barn on the property.

So of course I was thrilled when Artistic Outpost came out with the Old Grist Mill plate - here I let my Glimmer Mist do the coloring for me, using the Glimmer Mist Watercolor Technique.

So that my colors ended up exactly where I wanted them, I stamped my image first on the Matte Card Stock.  Once my ink was dry, I applied the following Glimmer Mist Colors: Suede, Denim Blue, Sunflower, Old Olive, and Scarlet. The Blue panel is embossed with a Texture Fades folder.

Ink - Black Archival

My parents bought a very old house, when we were kids, in the country in Upstate NY and it had an old barn. I always wanted to buy back that house and found out one of the owner's filled in the pool and removed the entire 2nd floor. Back to your card - Love it and it is beautiful. You like the Bridges of Madison County?

It's beautiful, Lisa!!! The technique works so well with the image. (I, too, like old barns and have been trying to photograph the ones in this area that in their last days!) BTW....I figured out my blog issue: it was evidently the fact that I used Firefox as my browser. IE shows all images, but I don't like it. I switched to CHROME, which is Google's browser. No more 'invisible' images on blogs now!

Lovely background colors again. Love when you layer your colors on the images. We too had an old barn behind our property and love the horses. All the view and none of the work. :)
