Compendium of Curiosities - I'm Here for You

Can you believe it's already week 6 of Linda's Compendium of Curiosities Challenge?  I had to sit out week 5, as I didn't have the Distress Embossing powders, but I'm happy to be playing along this week!  This weeks challenge is Multi Medium Collage.

I had a few things in mind when I sat down to work with this weeks challenge, after creating a bit, I decided to work the Multi Medium pieces into a Sympathy card.  Sympathy cards are always difficult to create, but I find them more difficult when I'm actually creating them to give to someone, rather than creating to put in my card supply box for future use.

I created this card with my girlfriend and her family in mind.  Her mom went in for what was to be routine surgery, but ended up with some complications and  passed away unexpectedly today.  The card will be waiting for her when she returns home later this week.

Details:
Stamps  - Stampin' Up!
Ink - Distress Inks Pumice, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass, Chocolate
Card Stock - River Rock, Blue Sky, Chocolate
Other - Big Shot, Texture Fades, Spiral Edge Punch, Cutter Kit, Flourish Pearls, Dimensionals, Brad (Kaiser), Accoutrement Button, Multi Medium, Dictionary Page, Ink Blending Tool, Craft Sheet, Piercing Tool

Hug your loved ones a little tighter.....

It's *so* gorgeous, Lisa! I love the way you used the journal page embossing for the background, and the multi-medium technique is perfect for the flowers. Gorgeous color combo, too!

Your designs are always so classy, and this is no exception!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's mother, and I wish her and her family the best. ♥

Lisa, I love this card, the flowers are so artsy, the distressed and embossed background is perfect and I love those pearls. I am so sorry to hear about your friend's mother. Mother's the one person who knows your entire history and loves you no matter what. I'm sure your friend will need all her friends right now and having artistic friends is always a bonus.

It is hard to create a sympathy card but you made a beautiful one. the texture fade in the background is perfect. We can lose someone in a blink of an eye. I agree we should give more hugs more often!
