Creative Cuts & More Mega Recipe Blog Hop - Day 1

Welcome to Day One of the Creative Cuts & More Mega Recipe Blog Hop, I'm so glad you stopped by! If you came from Stephany's Blog, you're in the right place, if not, after stopping here you might want to head back to the Die Cut Diva Blog so that you don't miss any of the wonderful creations.

Today there are 24 designers sharing projects made with the new Treasured Family Recipe Kit from Creative Cuts & More. All the supplies you need to create your projects are included in the kit with the exception of Stamps, Tape, Recipes and other other miscellaneous items I noted in my details.

Here's the Recipe Album I've created using the Treasured Family Recipe Kit (click photos to enlarge). I opted to cover the circle opening on the front cover.

The book is still a work in progress, as I have not completed all the pages, nor finished adding my recipes. A few hints, I have after working on the book, is not to plan on using full 8" x 8" pieces of paper or card stock to cover your pages. I had started doing this, then realized that I'd be better off using 4" x 8" pieces of both Pattern Paper and Card Stock, than laying a 1" strip to cover the seams. It will stretch your paper supply, and also allow for some card stock to be using under your recipe cards. I also used a Sponge Dauber and some Distress Inks to age my pieces a bit. I did cover the holes on the sides of the pages, then went back and used an uncovered page and a Crop-a-Dile to add the holes, so I could use the Rings to bind my kit. I used a Sanding Block on the edges of my pages to remove any jagged edges.

As you can see I've used a lot of the elements that come with the kit. The beautiful papers from Cosmo Cricket lend themselves nicely to the recipe book. On this page I added a recipe for Tuscan Chicken. You can download the recipe here.

On the recipe card I used images from JustRite's What's Cookin' Set. Using the 1-5/8" Wood Stamper, I stamped the center in Black on White card stock, then stamping again on a scrap of Cosmo Cricket paper, then Paper Pieced the Pot Holder. I used markers to color the spoons. You'll also notice on the border, I cut off the other parts of the sentiment, leaving just one grouping of words.

On the page below, I cut some of the images from a piece of the Cosmo Cricket papers and collaged them across the left hand page.

On these pages I used some of the elements from the Cosmo Cricket Adhesive Chipboard Early Bird. I also cut an image from a piece of the Pattern Paper and adhered it to my page. The recipe on this page is for Hot Broccoli Dip.

As part of the Mega Hop celebration, Creative Cuts & More will be having a great sale. For the next six days, you can get 20% off the entire store. But act quickly, it is only for six days – this sale will end on Nov 14th. Make sure you enter recipebloghop2009 during checkout for your discount.

As a continuing part of the celebration, each day Creative Cuts & More will give away one kit. Here is the twist, after you have finished the blog hop, return to the Die Cut Diva Blog and instead of leaving a comment, you'll need to share a recipe to have a chance at winning the kit. Share the recipe on your blog then link it back and get another chance to win the kit.

I hope you enjoyed my recipes and creations, your next stop on the hop is Chris Dickinson.

*Items used not included in the kit - JustRite Stampers, Ribbon, Adhesive, White Card Stock, Big Shot, Spellbinders Dies, Sponge Dauber, Inks, Recipes, Crop-a-dile, Sanding Blog.
