Three Clover Thursday - Summer Themed

Happy Thursday! This week Kerry issued the Three Clover Challenge Members to create a Super Summery Card. I have a few summer images, but I think the DoodleFactory Set the Scene Tropics just screams SUMMER! Well, it looks like a great place to visit!

The image is stamped in Black Archival and colored using the Marker Watercoloring Technique. To add the Clouds, I used a scrap punched out Scallop, ink and a sponge dauber. Once the image was dry, I cut a circle in the center with my Big Shot and Spellbinders Circle Dies, matted it on a Black Circle, then placed it back over the original panel.

I've had a few people email to ask what Markers and Watercolor paper I use when doing this technique.....I use Stampin' Up! Markers, as I don't own Copics, and they work just fine, as you can see. I've tried quite a few different brands of Watercolor Paper, and what works best is Stampin' Up!'s brand. No, I'm not just saying this because I sell it, I'm serious, I go though so much Watercolor Paper, I've checked out other brands, and this is the best I've found!

Fantastic Card Lisa...I'd love to be on that tropical island (only if the volcano isn't erupting). You've done a wonderful job coloring this summery scene.
