Welcome to another 3CTC! This weeks challenge is to create a card using no layers. YIKES! No layers, what's a girl to do? I *love* to layer, I think that's just part of my signature style of stamping. So with a bit of improvising, a few tools, and some morphing of the Paperless Layering Technique from an old TJNL issue, here's what I came up with.
To create my card, I cut two rectangles from Eclipse Paper using my Big Shot and Spellbinders Dies. I placed the larger rectangle onto the center of my White base card, then stippled on Soft Suede Ink. Inked up the Sanded Background stamp from Stampin' Up! in Soft Suede and stamped onto the stippled card stock. Using a rule and the Soft Suede Marker I drew a line around the rectangle. Remove the Eclipse rectangle. Place the smaller rectangle into the open white area, place strips of Eclipse Tape over the Soft Suede stippling. Stipple Crushed Curry onto the White card stock. Stamp images from Circle Circus (new Stampn' Up! set released in July) onto the Crushed Curry stippling. Use a smaller stamp from Circle Circus and stamp in Soft Suede - this will give you a Faux DSP look. Remove Eclipse Tape. Now you have a nice White area to stamp your image.
Hooked on the new In Colors from Stampin' Up!, I continued to use them on my Get Well Teddy from Kitchen Sink Stamps. Don't you think he's cheer someone up quickly! I stamped him in the following inks
Step 1 - Crushed Curry stamped off
Step 2 - Crushed Curry stamped off
Step 3 - Soft Suede
Step 4 - Soft Suede
To finish my card, I tied on a piece of the new Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain, added a Stick Pin from the Pretties Kit, and dyed a Pretties Flower with Crushed Curry and adhered in place with a glue dot.

Wow! This card is a real art! Wonderful job on this challenge!
Holy smokes! Lisa this card is so cool! I looked at it and tried to figure out how you did it, cause it sure looks like layered paper! Thanks for sharing the wonderful directions! I'm going to have to save that in case I ever get challenged to do a no layer card again! LOL! FABULOUS card!
Wow, Lisa! What a lot of work but the end results are wonderful! You have made me see the possibilities of the crushed curry color. It goes so well with the soft suede in this card.
Fabulous Lisa...I tried the "faux" layers technique but need some more practice. You hit it spot on! Very cute card.
I don't understand half the terms in your "how I did it", but it sure turned out to be a gorgeous card!
Wow!!! I never would have guessed this is no layers - so cool!! Great job with the cute teddybear! :)
these images are awesome! Love how they look.
Great card, really well executed! Wish these limited edition colours were available in the UK!
