Just Clowning Around

Just having a little fun with one of the clowns from the Send in the Clowns plate from Artistic Outpost. I've been doing a lot of paper piecing with the Basic Grey papers and this clown image, it's been my therapy lately to see what colorful outfits I can create.

I've found the easiest way to do this, was to stamp the image twice on white card stock in Black. Use your main panel to add your layers, from your send image stamped on white, cut out the clowns head, hands and feet. Stamp the image again on the papers of your choice, cut out and layer on top of the stamped panel. Then add the hands, head and feet, and place the hat on last. It seems to give a more finished look.

The "Happy Birthday" comes from the new JustRite Celebrations Demi Phrases, these are made to use on the 2" Wood Block, but I wanted a smaller circle so after a bit of playing - I used my 1-3/16" block. As you can see the sentiment doesn't wrap fully around the outer circle, but I'm okay with that, because I really only wanted the Happy Birthday to show.

If I wanted to add a name to personalize my birthday greeting, I could by inserting the 15pt font as shown here.

While creating with the Demi Phrases, I also found that they fit on the Harmony Rectanglular Stamper Set, just stretch them out and push them into the channel on the wood block. More mileage from your stamps - you gotta LOVE that!
