Bloggers Challenge Week 14 - Spectrum Pads

This weeks Bloggers Challenge was to create something with Spectrum Pads. There’s some great techniques out there using Spectrum Pads, and then those you stumble upon by accident – such as my card posted below for this weeks challenge….

For this card I decided to brayer my ink from my Late November Spectrum Pad directly onto my image, rather than onto my card stock – and it worked like a charm…One of those duh moments, of "why didn’t I think of this sooner". I just love this image from Cornish Heritage Farms Thomas Kinkade Series, but wanted to add color without spending hours coloring - here's my end result....

Here’s another card using the same image and ink – but I used the Spectrum Roll Technique from a past issue of The Technique Junkies Newsletter, on Shimmer Card Stock.

This week I have Carole Burrage joining me as a guest Bloggers Challenge Player - here's her fun and funky spectum card. Thanks for playing Carole!

The image was colored with Copic Sketch markers and Copic Spica glitter pens, then colored over with a VersaMark pen and heat embossed with clear ep. It's mounted on a 3-D dot. The exhaust is made with A Muse twinkle stickers. The Mega Scalloped oval background was made with an SU! Celebration spectrum pad on glossy cardstock using the Bouncing Brayer method, then framed with a Basic Black Giga Scalloped oval.

Supplies used:
Stamps -- Image by A Muse, sentiment by Hampton Art Stamps; Paper: Basic Black, Pink Passion, glossy cardstock; Ink: SU! Celebration spectrum ink pad; VersaMark, Basic Black, Brilliance Archival Graphite Black; Accessories -- Copic Sketch and Spica markers, A Muse Twinkle stickers, brayer, Marvy Uchida Giga and Mega Scalloped Oval punches, ribbon, 3-D dots, clear embossing powder.

Be sure to check out the other Bloggers Challenge Players Spectrum Pad posts!

Have a great weekend!

Beautiful work Lisa! What a difference from one cardstock to the other! So cool! I really like the one that you brayer onto the stamp first. So pretty!

These are spectacular! What a great idea to roll the pad onto your stamp! (insert mental image of me smacking my forehead here!) The second one could be hung on your wall it's so beautiful...and realistic!

Carole's card is adorable! Love the vibrant colors!

Nicely done! I have to say that I really like the first spectrum card over the other one due to it's more vibrant colors. These make perfect stamp pads for those fabulous Thomas Kincaid images.

Carole's "retro" rainbow card is "Groovy" for sure! Love it.

Great cards Lisa! Both techniques look great with the Thomas Kincaide stamp. I really like the silhouette look of the second card though.

Carole's card is so cute! I love the groovy colors. The bouncing brayer technique looks like tie dye here. Too perfect!
