Bloggers Challenge Week 7 - Alter It

As I mentioned earlier this week - this weeks Bloggers Challenge was to alter something. My altered item started out as a plain white frame from Oriental Trading. I was going to modge podge on some DSP, but then thought why not try something totally different.

Here's my before picture

The how to for altering this project is pretty simple. Wipe down frame with the embossing buddy. Randomly stamp Snow Burst images in Ballet Blue and Brocade Blue CRAFT inks, clear emboss. Adhere the new silver elastic cord from the Holiday Mini.

The next step was to prepare the new On Board Trimmings from the Holiday Mini. I'll be featuring this product in an upcoming class (see the side bar on the left for my classes).

To alter the chipboard - simply apply Ballet Blue CRAFT ink to your chipboard, sprinkle on some Heat & Stick Powder and tap off the extra. Then heat until it become tacky, being careful not to overheat. Next, sprinkle on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter tap off the extra, heat to set the glitter. Apply the finished snowflake to your frame as shown using a pop up glue dot.

As for the outer circle - it makes a great ornament. Follow the above steps to add the DD Glitter, then use your crop-a-dile to punch your hole, and add your silver elastic cord.

If you've followed me down this far - you'll be glad you did! I used the area where the punch out came from to create this cute holiday card using Jolliest Time of the Year.

Be sure to check out the blogs listed under Bloggers Challenge to the left to see what the other players created this week. I'm sure you'll be amazed at what you can alter!

ETA - I've been asked it anyone can join the Bloggers Challenge Group - currently the yahoo group membership has been capped - but feel free to join us each week - you're more than welcome to leave a comment here on my blog with a link to your post.

Oh, I forgot that I'm not an SU consultant though, I'm a consultant for CTMH if that matters.
