Rubber Stamper - Published
I received my comp copy of the September Rubber Stamper - and am thrilled to have a few cards in this issue! If you happen to get a copy - I've got cards on page 31, 38 and 39. Two of the cards use SU images, and one used a combination of images from Innovative Stamp Creations . I was thrilled to recognize so many names in this issue.
On page 50, you'll see a photo of some of my friends from the SSUS online group that I swap with - these are an amazing group of stampers and friends! Last year at convention in Salt Lake City, we held a swap using the stamp set A Light Heart (which SU donated $2 for every set sold to cancer research). By doing this we were able to get some great samples to share with our customers. Featured in this article are Kim Goodsell, Rhonda Beadell and Jeannette Swain.
Also in this issue, are some name I recognize - Etha is a TJ member and has a card on page 27. Connie Babbert (page 84) and Kimm Bennington-Thompson (page 80) both are fellow DT members for the TJNL. Nancy Judd is on page 85 - she'll be a guest designer for the TJNL in October!

Mail Day
(all images Lasting Impressions with Panache)
I've been submitting for magazine design calls on a regular basis, it's always a thrill to get a comp copy in the mail, then flipping through it wondering what they've decided to publish. Even though I'm submitting for a call - I've found I need to design for "me". Meaning, not changing "my style" of stamping to conform to a certain design call.
The inspiration for this card came from the TJNL's Gesso Resist Technique - but I "morphed" the technique to suit my needs.
Congrats to all who were published in the May issue of Rubber Stamper!
ETA - Etha asked "So, do you in general submit more than one card for a certain challenge/theme when you send to magazines?"
Yes, generally I do submit more than 1 card for a design call - with hopes that one of them will get picked up. For the above "collage" call - I had actually submitted 2 cards. However, I don't submit the same cards to different magazines - as they are looking for original non published samples. Great question!
