It's Bloggers Challenge Week 40 - and this weeks challenge is Springtime Flowers. It doesn't feel like springtime here - as we had a dusting of sleet and snow tonight! My challenge card for this week uses quite a few techniques - I'm really happy with the outcome.
I love the look of the Watercolor Crayon technique - but unfortunately Groovy Guava does not come in a watercolor crayon - so I mophed that technique...I stamped my flower image from Bloomin' Beautiful in black stazon on watercolor paper, then using my aquapainter and painted my image with Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi. Once my image was dry - I went over the colored areas with my versamark and clear embossed. Now my image has some pop
! To add a little more dimension to my card I used the "Out of the Box" Technique (10/04 TJNL) - here's a close up ----->

I tired a few different ribbons on my card - and taffeta was the way to go...Yep, I know what you're thinking Stampin' Up! doesn't carry Groovy Guava taffeta ribbon...I dyed my white taffeta to match my card. I simply cut my ribbon to the desired length, then using the direct to paper (ribbon in this case) method, I applied the ink to my ribbon. I then took my water filled aquapainter and went over the ink to soften the color, then heat set. Easy peasy!

Stunning color combo. Just beautiful.
What a beautiful card...the colors are so very lovely. We have been getting SO much rain the past few days that it really seems like spring although the temps could be a little warmer for my liking! Wonderful job with the challenge.
Ohhhhhhhh,Ahhhhhhhhhh this is so beautiful! Fab card GF! Now I'm gona' have to buy that ribbon, it really helps make the card.
Gorgeous! I love that color combo and DP! {SMILES}
Oh Lisa. This is drop dead gorgeous. Wonderful color combo...gret job on the ribbon dyeing. WOW!!!
This is "bloomin' beautiful"! Love the colors and the texture.

WOW! Great job Lisa. I love your watercoloring. Guava has been a favorite color of mine this year.
You are too cool!!! I love that about the ribbon and need to remember I can do that when I can't find the perfect color of ribbon I want. (like today). Great job, love the out of the box image!
Woe Lisa. JustWos. That is one heck of a stunning card. Really, when I opened it, it took my breath away! Just a stunning creation.
Gorgeous!!! I totally forget about dying the ribbon. I was just lamenting the fact that we had no bright yellow ribbon! Love the layout of your card, too!
This is beautiful. I love all the flower cards you've posted lately.
WOWZA! Another beauty by Lisa! Terrific layers and love that GG taffeta! This one's really a stunner.
This is a beautiful card Lisa! I really like the different techniques that you used. I didn't know what this week's challenge was, but I just made a card today and posted it on my blog with a sunflower! Hmmm...do sunflowers count as spring flowers? :D
You technique queen, you! What a morph...it's simply stunnng!
Lisa, this is beautiful! I really like how nicely the ribbon took the Groovy Guava color!
I really like this card. The flower image looks almost professionally printed. I thought "why is she using a sticker???" hee hee.
I also love the out of the box technique, although I forget to use it. This poppy stamp is perfect for that since it would be too "leggy" just cut out around the image. Your colors and layout really pop! Mine is a simpler version. Stop in at my blog and leave a comment!
Oh my Lisa -- this is just GORGEOUS
So pretty! I love that background paper! Stunning :)
Very pretty and elegant - I bet it looks even more stunning IRL!
This is just gorgeous! The flower image is beautiful in those colors.
